To see and do in our immediate area:
The Sandbanks Provincial Park
is just down the road from us. It offers three famous beaches and is an attraction
for hiking and exploring any time of the year. Sailboarding and boating are very
popular. The Park has 2 boat launches, but you also find a public boat launch on
West Lake Rd ca. 1 km from us.
Picturesque Villages
Drive a few minutes in either direction to visit the beautiful villages of Bloomfield,
Wellington & Milford, where you can browse in the many antique shops, galleries and
boutiques and have a restful stop in one of the many eateries.
Scenic Drives
There are many marked tour routes, never taking you far from your base, offering
attractive destinations and scenic surprises.
In Winter skate on our
lake, snowshoe around the property or cross country ski through the park's pine forest on
several marked trails or along Lake Ontario's breathtaking winter landscape.
Fishing
opportunities are nearby. There are also organized expeditions.
Birdwatching is
excellent in the Park and in other areas during spring migration. To date over 330
species have been recorded on our shores.
This is a Cyclist's paradise as
more and more people find out. We also attract foreigners to our roads. The
best times are spring and autumn. Bikes can be rented in Bloomfield.
Horseback Riding
along the beach is a few miles from here.
