Glenora mills
Glenora industrial site used overflow water from Lake on the Mountain to power its
mills. Hugh Macdonald, father of Sir John A, Canadas first Prime Minister, leased
the property and operated grist and carding mills from 1829 to 1836.
Logging
In 1826 the pine reserved for the Royal Navy
was released for cutting:
wooden ships were built in Milford and floated
down Lake Ontario.
