BROOK FARM COTTAGE

Pictures and brief comments

Photo 1

House in winter seen from near the Loyalist Parkway – the house is back about 250ft from the road.

Photo 2

Similar shot but in early summer.

Photo 3

Front of the farm house with the cottage being the right (East) side. The one window directly above the concrete steps is the inner bedroom upstairs that has the en suite 2piece bathroom.

Photo 4

Brook Farm Cottage door to the kitchen from the porch is behind the pillars on the right. The door back along the East wall is between the back bedroom and the downstairs living space. The other upstairs bedroom window is above the Eastside kitchen window.

Photo 5

The front of the house has a very nice flower garden that should be at least as good this year as it was as shown last year. There is also a very nice flower garden on the East Side that you might enjoy.

Photo 6

This grass slope takes you from your Eastside parking area to the large grass playing field.

Photo 7

Looking West is the dairy farm. The playing field is large – about 80ft wide and 150ft long. Great spot to kick a football!

Photo 8

Horses and a few cows will often come to the edge of the fence. (you can probably feed apples to the horses).

HAPPY VISITORS

BROOK FARM COTTAGE has been occupied as a double house for over 20 years. Originally it was primarily used as a duplex home property. With its own heating, fullsized kitchen, large living room, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms it has proven to be a comfortable cottage for the more recent summer visitors. The complete front porch of 50 ft has 30 ft dedicated to BROOK FARM COTTAGE visitors. This is the area just above the garden that is shown in the picture to the left.

Summer visitors over the past 8 years have all appreciated the space and the parklike surroundings. The convenience of being in the tourist village of Bloomfield has been another attraction. Of great benefit to many of the visiting groups has been the opportunity to have somewhat separated sleeping for 4 upstairs and another 4 that can fit into the large fireplace room at the back of the ground floor. This has meant 2 small families of relatives or good friends can come together and yet have some privacy.

There is a campfire location that leaves the visitors feeling as if they are far out in the wilderness.

The centre of Bloomfield is a short 10 minute walk where there are 2 icecream parlors, restaurants, and a good number of gift shops on the way and at the centre crossroads.

Sandbanks park is a short 10 minute drive. The other swimming Provincial Park, “North Beach” is about 20 minutes drive going through Wellington. The unique cliffviewing location of the third Provincial Park, “Lake on the Mountain” is also about 20 minutes drive through the shopping centre of Picton.
